About Kiera L. Jenness, Ph.D., LCP

Dr. Kiera Jenness is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who provides outpatient therapy to children, adolescents, young adults and their families, conducts psychological assessments and co-leads social skills groups at Spectrum Transformation Group. Dr. Jenness utilizes a cognitive-behavioral approach in her therapy sessions, while taking into account the dynamics of the family system and the community environment. She has a strong background in child and adolescent development and assessment, and earned her Ph.D. in Applied Developmental Psychology from Fordham University. She believes in focusing on her clients’ strengths while taking into account their developmental history, and its impact on their current experiences. Dr. Jenness feels that supporting the parents and family members through family therapy and parental education/support sessions is essential in helping both the client and their family make positive and lasting change.

 

Dr. Jenness has extensive experience providing intensive outpatient services to children, adolescents, young adults and families both in the private sector and in the community mental health setting. She has worked with individuals on the autism spectrum as well as those with a variety of mental health diagnoses, including those with attention, anxiety and behavioral disorders.
